OFFENSIVE AND

CLINICAL WASTE

Does your organisation produce offensive human or animal waste, drugs or other pharmaceutical products, swabs or dressings, syringes, needles or other sharp medical instruments, human or animal tissue, blood or other body fluids? If the answer is yes to at least one of these then you require a Clinical waste collection.

We group clinical waste into 3 broad categories:

1. Non-Hazardous Offensive Waste (Non-infectious)

2. Medicinal and Sharps waste (Non-infectious) and

3. Hazardous Wastes which may also pose a risk of infection.

To manage your Clinical waste more efficiently and eliminate risk to humans, we recommend that all types of Clinical waste are separated at the source of production by using color coded receptacles.

Because of the significantly higher risk of harm that these waste streams can cause to humans, wildlife and the environment, there are much stricter regulations that surround their collection and disposal.
